CHAIRMAN’S GOLF DAY 2014

CHAIRMAN’S GOLF DAY 2014
It was a gloriously sunny day when 16 golfers turned out for the Chairman’s golf day on Friday 20th June at Southport Old Links Golf Club.
To start the round our chairman for this year Peter Stones, who has only just recently taken the game up, drove off from the first tee and hit a beautiful shot (one of his best) but unfoutunately, to his surprise the ball exploded.
Well needed refreshments were provided at the half way point and served by our Chairman and Vice Chairman and their wives.
Some good golf was played and the eventual winner was John Unsworth with 34 points on a card play off with Mike Coxon. John also won the longest drive competition beating Jamie Barton by just a few yards. Nearest to the pin was won by our immediate past chairman Graham Meadow.
The day was finished off with an excellent meal at the golf club and a few well earned drinks back at the Conservative club.
Thanks go out to all the competitors and helpers involved on the day.
